Abstract
The study area belongs to the Bắc Giang, Lạng Sơn, Quảng Ninh and Hải Dương Provinces, NE Structure. This area is characterized by complicated geological structures, which consist of many formations of different ages, compositions, genesises and tectonic deformations. The initial results showed that the geological formations in the region have undergone at least 6 deformation phases. Each phase is characterized by typical structures illustrating a regional tectonic deformation. The earlier deformations (Phase 1, 2 and 3) have occurred as ductile deformations while phase 4 is brittle-ductile deformation and phase 5 is a brittle deformation. The later deformation phases have superposed the earlier events and make geological structures and ore bodies of the region more complicated. Some type of structures are closely related to and control endogenous ore mineralization in the region. In which, phase 2 controls Au, Cu, Pb, Zn, Ba, Hg mineralization while phase 4 is related to Au, Ba (Pb, Zn, Cu and Au) mineralization.
