Abstract

This study presents the changes in shoreline in Diêm Điền (Diêm Hộ) Estuary area based on remote sensing data, comparision and verification of ground observation data together with pre-existing maps, especially topographic maps. The results showed that the sedimentary accretion and erosion in the Diêm Điền Estuary are variable from year to year and from season to season. In general, the accreted area is dominated over the eroded area; Notably, the accretion occurred mostly along the coastline, whereas the erosion occurred mainly along the river bank.
