Abstract
The Project "Geological mapping and mineral survey at 1:200,000 scale of North Laos" (2002-2007) was completed by geologists of the Intergeo Division (Department of Geology and Minerals of Việt Nam) under the leadership of Dr. Trần Văn Bạn, with the collaboration of geologists of the Department of Geology-Mining of Lao. Beside the discovery and registration of many ore deposits and occurrences, the realization of this Project has been contributing in the clarification of geological structure of the North Lao territory in particular and the North Indochina in general. Especially, for the first time, a massif of ultramafic intrusive of Late Carboniferous (?) was discovered in the Tomhai Village area, Pakbeng District, Oudomxai Province in the north of Lao PDR.
