Abstract
Rare earth mines in the North Việt Nam are all associated with natural radioactive matters. Equivalent radiation rate dose over main rare earth mines is usually beyond the permitted limit at two levels with two irradiated groups C and B (group of inhabitants and group of neighbouring people). For the group A (those who are working directly) contamination occurs only with very small scale, on the rare earth ore body, exposed directly on the surface with high concentration of radioactive matters. This article presents the characteristics of components of natural radiation over rare earth mines in the North Việt Nam for planning and sustainable socio-economic development of the localities.
