Abstract

The Project "Investigation and evaluation of the potential of titanium-zircon placer in the red sand beds in Ninh Thuận, Bình Thuận and north of Bà Rịa - Vũng Tàu areas" is a key project of the State having large scale investment. During the realization of this Project, the Vertical Electrical Sounding method (VES) was applied to determine the thickness of Quaternary sediments containing titanium-zircon ores. The comparison of the results of interpretation of data collected by this method and materials from drilling work has been giving errors in the permitted limits. The method helped to orient and design effectively drilling works.
