Abstract

After the realization of the Geological map of Hồ Chí Minh City at 1:50.000 scale by the Geological Division N^o6 (at present, South Việt Nam Geological Mapping Division) during 1984-1988 [5], many geological studies and mineral surveys were carried out on the territory of the City allowing the authors to supplement new materials and to compile the new Geological map of Hồ Chí Minh City at 1:50,000 scale.

This paper presents new basic materials to be supplemented to the geological map of Hồ Chí Minh City at 1:50.000 scale. At the same time, the authors presented some applications of this geological map in the study on hydrogeology and engineering geology in the City.
