Abstract
The paper introduces some results of the research on mineralization types and ore-control structures of gold in Mẫu Sơn area, Lộc Bình District, Lạng Sơn Province. The research results show that gold ore in Mẫu Sơn area has distinctive characteristics and could be divided into 3 mineralization types: 1/ Quartz-sulfide-gold; 2/ Quartz-gold and 3/ Auriferous iron cap.
The above three mineralization types occur mainly in coarse grain terrigenous sediments of Nà Khuất and Mẫu Sơn formations, belonging to Mẫu Sơn and Nhượng Bản anticlines. The quartz-sulfide-gold mineralization type is concentrated at the hinges of the anticlines and is of highest potential in the study area. The quartz-gold mineralization type is located in two limbs of the anticlines, the ore bodies are of small size and low grade, however, gold ores are relatively pure and are of rather large distribution area. The auriferous iron cap mineralization type is of small scale with relatively high grade and favorable mining conditions, so it is also an object of interest.
