Abstract

The magnetotelluric method is based on the measurement of the telluric field to investigate deep geologic structures. The results from audio-magnetotelluric sounding with the frequency range of 0.1 - 800Hz in the Ba River Valley show a geophysical profile quite consistent with the geological structure, with investigation depth up to thousands of meters. This result and those of many other studies show a prospect of wide broad application of this method in the fields of geological, hydrogeological, petroleum, etc. investigation  in Việt Nam.
