Abstract

Among landslides that have occurred in the recent years, there has been a consequence of the collapse of the karst caves. Landslides in these karst caves are dangerous geological hazards in karst areas. To be able to predict destructive phenomenan and landslides, there are needed to understand the mechanism of destruction and so methods that allow to study these phenomena. This article presents the causes of karst destruction phenomena, and analyzes the mechanisms of destruction using the UDEC program. From the simulation of collapses occured in these karst caves, it indicates that the collapse can occur under different destructive mechanisms such as faults, fractures... similar to phenomena that have been observed in practice.
