Abstract

So far, the the mining industry has been strongly developed due to heavy demand of various industrial sectors, especially heavy industry, . This gave rise to the gradual depletion of natural  mineral resources. The exposed or relatively shallow (< 200 m below the surface) metallic deposits  all  being extracted or have been entirely exploited. The investigation, and prospecting of the new deeply burried mineral resources is  an essential issue for our country in the industrialization and modernization of the nation.

A combination of advanced geophysical methods tested in the South of the Thạch Khê Iron Deposit, Hà Tĩnh Province resulted in discovering an extension of the ore body at a depth of 500-700 m.

The preliminary results showed that the effectiveness of combination of modern geophysical methods in prospecting and assessing of deep-lying mineral deposits.
