Design and installation of automatic monitoring system for ground subsidence, groundwater dynamics and properties to serve as warning for surface subsidence disasters

Abstract

Groundwater fluctuation and properties are main factors effecting ground subsidence, expecially in areas which distribute clay material. Ground subsidence occurs gradually causing terrain deformation and constructions, therfore it is needed to monitor. This acticle describles about a design of automatic mornitoring system for subsidence and groundwater fluctuation and properties for geological hazard warning in Hoang Tan, Chi Linh, Hai Duong area. The monitoring system using high acurate sensors records settle of soil layers, pore water pressure, pH and temperature of ground water in total depth of 19,0m accompaning with precipitation. The preliminary result shows the change in monitoring parameters and the relations are being established between parameters.
