Abstract
The study of the interaction between surface water and groundwater plays a crucial role in assessing groundwater recharge sources and the impact of groundwater on surface flow. Although numerous studies have examined the interaction between the Red River’s surface water and groundwater in the Hanoi region at various riverside locations, a detailed analysis of the hydrogeological structure of the riverbed to comprehensively evaluate this interaction has not yet been conducted. This study aims to fill that gap. The results have delineated the distribution of hydrogeological structures in the Red River’s riverbed in the Hanoi area and calculated the hydraulic resistance of riverbed for each zone, providing essential scientific insights for the management and exploitation of water resources.
