Abstract

Appling vertical electrical sounding method using 1D model in mineral investigation in our country has achieved some remarkable results during the recent years. However, there are still some limitations due to the fact that the method was established based on the assumptions that the geo-electrical layers of section are parallel and horizontal, horizontal uniform of the electrical conductivity and flat topography.  In fact, it does not satisfy the problem conditions, which cause the mismatch between theoretical computation and practical result.

In order to overcome the afforementioned shortcomings, we have effectively studied to apply 2D-model electrical sounding in mineral, groundwater and geological hazards investigation in many regions of Việt Nam. The paper will present some results derived from our research in some areas of Việt Nam.
