Abstract
The present intertidal beaches of Thừa Thiên - Huế Province is strongly changed by natural impacts. The variation of intertidal beaches is characterized by the following features:
+ Erosion is the main activity, which triggered the change in intertidal beaches.
+ The strongest erosion occurred in the intertidal beaches during the NE monsoon season (From September to March of the following year) and during the storm season (From August to October). Corresponding to the two most strongly eroded locations are upper intertidal beachese (1 to 1.5 m above sea level) and the base of the sand dunes.
+ The Northeast monsoon, storm and the slope of the intertidal beaches are major factors controlling erosionprocess of the beach.
+ The erosion tends to intensified due to global climate change and sea level rise
